Andy Peak's last appearance after a long and honourable service to the club was in the 2-0 Spalding Cup defeat by Hayes in October 1997. He deserved a more fitting finale. He had begun the season by becoming the first Diamonds player to make 200 appearances but was an early victim of the teams poor start to the season and left Nene Park after adding four more Conference games to the list.

Andy had played at Hayden Road and started his Diamonds career in the clubs first season. His only goal came in the 2-0 victory over Halesowen in the FA Vase reply in November 1992, but surprisingly it wasn't until February 1993 that he established himself as a regular in the back four. 1993/94 was even less memorable, he began the season on the bench and the arrival of full back Tim Wooding and the good form of central defenders Darrell Page and John Flower restricted his starts in the title winning side to a miserly 20. But better times were around the corner.

In 1994/95 he started in the team that reached the FA Trophy semi final and the following year played a major role in the club gaining promotion to the Conference. Missing for much of the first part of the 996/97 season he returned for the home match against Slough in March and was retained by Brian Talbot for the impressive run in the secured Conference survival. He was resealed the following season as Talbot look to strengthen the Diamonds side.
